Camping information:
Panoramacamping Petite Suisse is situated 500 m above sea level in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes. From the terraces you have a magnificent view over the magnificent surroundings. A Finnish-style chalet village has been erected on the highest terraces. An ideal holiday destination in all seasons for those seeking peace and quiet as well as for active nature lovers. Through its location on the south slope, sun worshippers are not left out. In the winter, the campsite is covered with a layer of snow and you can go cross-country skiing in the woods or enjoy the winter scenery.
Here you will find peace and quiet and space. During the day, you can stroll through the woods for hours without encountering anyone. Does, stags, wild boar, foxes and badgers are still frequently seen. Night-time will astound you with pitch black nights and beautiful starry skies.
The eastern basin /catchment area of the Ourthe river is a region that features impressive forests, countless brooks and exceptional villages and cities. The scenic villages La Roche en Ardenne and Durbuy are only a few kilometres from the campsite.
The latter is easy to reach and is less than 100 km from Maastricht and 8 kilometres from the E25 motorway, which is the “Route du Soleil’ and continues to the south of France. We are not a holiday factory were guests are just a number. Everyone gets the personal attention one would expect. We operate on a small scale and apply highest standards in terms of professionalism. We offer a variety of options for groups. Are you organising a short excursion, a week away for your company, family, circle of friends or association? Then you can opt for modern camping in a number of luxurious accommodations or you can stay in our new holiday home. We will be glad to think this through with you, so that a package can be put together that is totally in line with your wishes. For a pleasant and carefree stay, including food and drink, outdoor sports opportunities and/or excursions.
With the tent or caravan…
You can really enjoy all the camping comfort. The camping pitches are a maximum 115 m² and besides a 10A electrical connection, they have a central antenna connection and free wireless internet! If you decide to reserve a comfort pitch, then you also have your own water tap and wastewater drainage. In the heated sanitary blocks, you can make unlimited use of warm water, free of charge, for washing up and taking showers. For the youngest campers, there are special baby washrooms.
Real camping, but just a bit different all the same…
You only have to bring along clothing and toiletries because Petite Suisse will provide the rest! You drive the car to your location and your holiday starts. You can have a drink at the bar, get a quick snack from the snack hut or enjoy a sumptuous meal in the restaurant. Here we serve à la carte, including our chef’s own meat and fish specialties. In addition we also have a menu of the day and a separate menu for the children in which our legendary heroes play a role. In addition, the restaurant has generous opening hours, outside of school holidays as well.
While all other campsites ‘close their doors’ during the winter period, we are operating at full speed. By deciding to do ‘winter camping’, you choose atmosphere, cosiness and comfort in your own caravan or in a luxury Finnish Chalet, also called ‘ bungalows in the mountains’! These chalets can be rendered all year long and every year guests come back for the sparkling winter package. That is not surprising because our campsite, along with the Belgian Ardennes, has a whole lot to offer precisely in this period.
All facilities and amenities (the shop, bar and restaurant,) are open during the Christmas holiday and a recreation team is active. In the month of December, a lot of villages are decorated with cribs and thousands of Christmas lights. It is highly recommended to visit one of the local Christmas markets, of which Durbuy is by far the best known. For the sports enthusiasts among us, with a bit of luck you can start your cross-country skiing right from the campsite. If not, the number one ski area of Belgium, Baraque de Fraiture, is only 10 km from the campsite.
